BOUNDARY WATERS CANOE ROUTE – Ogish Base Camp

BWCAW Entry Point: 55 Saganaga or 54 Seagull
Minimum Trip Length: 3 Days

Welcome to Ogishkemuncie, derived from the Anishaabe word for kingfisher. This lake is far enough off the beaten path that will feel truly disconnected from it all. Fisherman will love this lake for walleye, pike, and even lake trout fishing! If fishing is not your thing, Ogish also offers close proximity to both Mueller Falls and Eddy Falls for day trips. Take a hike along a section of the Kekekabic and see what thru-hiking in the BWCAW is really like.

Ogish has something to offer everyone in your group, and with several five-star campsites, you don’t want to miss it! We recommend adding a round trip tow to Red Rock portage to extend your time on Ogish.
